Front End Developer ยท Cinematographer
It started in 1996. I was a teen living in the Netherlands, and one of my best friends showed me something that would quickly take over my life: his website. I had never considered making a website myself, but once I tried it, I was immediately hooked. Nearly thirty years later, I still get the same kick out of it, which is either a sign of genuine passion or a sign that I’m a major nerd. (It’s both.)

I’m a front-end developer with over a decade of professional experience, but the creative side is just as much a part of who I am. I don’t just write code; I also illustrate, animate, shoot video, and help shape how a brand feels. That’s why agency work fits me well. I love the variety. I love that no two projects are the same. And honestly, I love a good problem that requires more than one skill set to solve.
Over the years, I’ve built websites for some of the biggest names in the auto industry: Ford, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Toyota, Volkswagen, and more. I’ve also designed characters for ad campaigns, written kiosk software, developed a 3D browser game, and shot prep-football games in the Illinois cold. I like to think I keep things interesting.
Outside of work, I’m a maker through and through. I draw. I build models. I do woodworking. For a long time, music was a big part of my life too; I played cello, drums, and guitar. However, in the fall of 2025, I lost my hearing due to SSHL. That hasn’t slowed me down, though.
Oh, and if you put me on a team with a tight deadline and rising tension, I’m the one who’ll crack a well-timed joke that somehow makes everyone breathe again. My last manager treated it like a superpower. I think of it as a natural instinct. Either way, I’ve never lost a sprint to low morale.
If you’re building something that needs both technical chops and a creative eye, and you’d like someone who can help keep spirits high in the process, reach out.
